BASIC WORK PRACTICES


PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE
To familiarise participants with basic work practices, tools and techniques in an organisation.


TARGET GROUP
This programme will benefit those who have been recently employed by the organisation or are responsible 
for basic work roles. This course is an entry level course and is a pre-cursor to the “Developing Frontline Staff” course.

TRAINING STRUCTURE
This programme is presented by an accredited trainer, experienced and qualified in corporate 
management and skill development training. Ii is highly participatory and practical. It involves small group exercises and discussions. There will be on-going feedback and support.

LEARNING BENEFITS

After completion of this programme, it is expected participants will have the tools and techniques to be able to;

• Understand what the company work requirements are (hours of work, work standard)
• Appreciate the importance of health and safety in their work environment
• Understand the importance of communication with other staff and customers
• Apply assertiveness in the work environment
• Ensure that a first impression with customers is a positive one
• Appreciate the importance of teamwork in the department they work in
• Separate the „needs‟ from the „wants‟ in order to achieve their personal goals
• Understand the importance of time management (reducing time wasting).
